Julian "Lou" J. Wojtena, age 93, of Bryant, Arkansas and formerly of Hammond, IN, US Marine Corps Veteran of the WWII, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. Beloved Husband of late Jean L. Wojtena nee Pokorski. Loving Father of George (Tammy) Budzinski of Austin, TX and Cynthia (Scott) Isslieb of Bryant, AR and Father-in-law of late Mark Gootee. Proud Grandfather of Chris (Marie) Gootee, Kim Gootee, and 10 others. Dearest Great-Grandfather of many. Devoted Brother of late John (late Lottie) Wojtena, late Jack (late Henrietta) Wojtena, late Casimir (Jenny) Wojtena, late Julia (late John) Lesnewski, and late Stephanie Scarwecki, late Agnes Lewandowski, and Brother-in-law of Maxine Pokorski. Fond Uncle of many Nieces and Nephews. Loyal Friend of his 6 Granddogs.
After retiring from Amoco Oil after more than 30 years, Lou was involved with the Hammond FOP. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Calumet City Memorial Post 330. Lou loved dancing and could always be found on the dance floor.
