Obituary
Jose Guadalupe Oblea Sr., age 57, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018. He is survived by his wife, Maricela Oblea; father, Pedro Oblea; children: Jose Guadalupe Oblea Jr., Pedro Oblea, Amanda Oblea, Maria (Shane) Covarrubias; grandchildren: Celeste, Carlos, Jessica, Cameron, Mia; greatgrandchildren: Lailani and Myla; siblings: Vincente, Angelita, Daniel, Sergio, Serafin, Teresa, Leticia, Francisco, Fausto, Roberto and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his mother, Elena Oblea Suarez; brothers: Manuel and Salvador; grandson, Silas. With 27 years of service, Jose was a foreman at Jupiter aluminum. He was a hard worker and a devoted family man. He enjoyed soccer, working out and making people laugh. Jose will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, January 3, 2019 12:00 Noon at LaHayne Funeral Home (6955 Southeastern Ave Hammond, IN). Friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Elmwood cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family. For more information please call 219.845.3600.
