Jose Figueroa, age 34, formerly of Hammond, Indiana passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021.

Jose is survived by his wife, Joanna M. Figueroa (nee Young); children: Alyssa Garcia, Sophia Figueroa and Jose Figueroa, Jr.; Mother, Maria A. Figueroa; sister, Araceli Figueroa.  Jose was preceded in passing by his father, Jose L. Figueroa, Jr. and his Tío,  Refugio "Cuco" Anaya, Sr.

Jose lived to work and refused to remain idle. He did whatever he could to provide for his family because his children meant the world to him. He was the best of the best in the towing industry and he wasn't ashamed to let you know it. He considered himself Bert's Towing in Hammond's number one driver and was currently enrolled at Driveco studying for his CDL because he was determined to go all the way. In his very rare time off, he loved taking his children to his family's farm in Momence, IL. Jose was one of the funniest people anyone could meet. If he wasn't busy making you laugh, then you could probably catch him  sharing one of his hundreds of favorite songs with you. He was a huge fan of all music and was known for his eclectic taste.  Jose was an absolutely amazing man, father, son, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Avenue Hammond, IN 46324 at 12:00 PM.  Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
