Johnny "John" Abell, age 65, of Hammond, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. Loving father of Julie A. Abell, Brian M. Abell, and Keith E. Abell. Cherished brother of Jerry (Pam) Abell and Gayla. Proud and devoted grandpa of Karen Abell, Abigail "Abby" Blashill-Abell, and Brandon M. Abell. Preceded in death by his wife Sharon K. Abell nee Young and his parents Willard Abell and Stella May Pain nee Brown. John graduated from Clark High School. He retired from ArcelorMittal. John enjoyed fishing for catfish at night as well as watch Westerns and War Movies on television, especially John Wayne movies. John looks forward to being reunited with the love of his life, Sharon, who was fixed up with him by her grandma. He was loved by many and will be missed by more.
