John Hobbs, age 65, of DeMotte, IN., passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025.

John is survived by his wife of 39 years: Jackie; his children: Christina (Tom) Sleeper, Janet Hobbs and Sammantha Hobbs; grandchildren: Elizabeth Sleeper and Nathan Sleeper; nephew, Justin (Natasha) Hobbs.

He wanted a party to celebrate his life, which will take place on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 4:00PM-7:30PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324.

John's voicemail said it best, "if I'm huntin, I'm huntin, I'm fishin, I'm fishin and I will get back to you later". He was a true outdoorsman. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, friend and an overall great guy. He could talk to anyone and often did. He was always on the lookout for a deal at an estate or garage sale to practice his haggling skills. He learned to be an excellent gardener like his dad and was quick to share his bounty with friends and neighbors.  Above all else, John loved being around his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
