Jennifer A. Kitchens, age 34, of Hammond, IN. lost her 17-yr courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, March 25, 2010. She is survived by her son, Kyle Thomas; parents, David and Carol Kitchens of Hammond, IN; 1 brother, John (fiancé, Tanda) Kitchens of Hammond, IN; adopted brother, Robert Ritz of Hammond, IN; maternal grandparents, Kenneth and Florence Micona of Murfreesboro, TN; paternal grandmother, Mabel (J. B.) Redferrin of Cross Plains, TN; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Virgil Kitchens. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 4-8 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be appreciated. Jennifer was a lifetime resident of Hammond and a member of the Lew Wallace Elementary School PTA.
