Janice D. Saksa, age 84 of Whiting, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021.

Janice is survived by her daughters: Kim (Late Randal) Vaught and Kris Saksa; grandchildren: Kelly (Nikki) Maaskant and Derek Vaught; great granddaughter, Lily Maaskant; and her Four-legged companion, Lucas.  Janice was preceded in passing by her parents: George and Evelyn; and her brothers, Howard and Dennis.

A Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN 46324 with Father Theodore Mens officiating.  Burial will follow at Saint John - Saint Joseph Cemetery in Hammond, IN.  Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 5:00 P.M-8:00 P.M .

Janice was formerly employed by School City of Whiting in food service where she was known as "Miss Jan"  Janice loved her shopping, walking, cooking and even cleaning.  Her favorite past time was always spending time with family.  Throughout the years she always attended and supported all of her children's activities and sporting events and treasured being able to also attend for her grandchildren.
