James R. McGaha, age 68, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017. He was born in Huntsville, Alabama to Roy and Jessie McGaha on May 15, 1949. James retired from Inland Steel with over 30 years of service. He enjoyed drinking coffee and visiting with his friends at the Red Rooster Restaurant. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his mother, Jessie McGaha; brothers: Bill (Lynda) McGaha, Will (Donna) McGaha and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. James is preceded in death by his father, Roy McGaha; siblings: Jerry, Glen and Joyce. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at LaHayne Funeral home (6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN) and again on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Interment Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
