James "Jim" H. O'Neal, age 86, US Army Veteran of WWII, of Schererville, formerly of Hammond and Lansing, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012. Cherished husband for 63 years to Florence A. O'Neal nee Nauracy. Loving father of late James Michael O'Neal, Patricia (Warren) Brown, and Pamela (Steven) Guzior. Proud grandfather of Jimmy Brown, Ryan Brown, Ashley Brown, Austin O'Neal, Connor Guzior, and Kaleb Guzior. Jim graduated from Purdue University in 1951 and used his degree as an engineer for Amoco, now BP, as an International Project manager. He was a longtime member of the McKinley Lodge No. 712 F. & A.M.. He was also a member of the ORAK Pipe Band with the Shriners. Jim loved the time spent with his family especially his grandchildren who made him the proudest. He was loved by many and will be missed by more. Lying in State Monday, July 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM until time of Service at 11 AM at The First United Methodist Church, 18420 Burnham Ave. Lansing, IL with Rev. Barbara P. Kell, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the Family on Sunday, July 1, 2012 from 3 PM until 8 PM with Masonic Service at 7 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond.
