James "Jim" F. Whitaker, Jr, age 74, of Schaumburg, IL and formerly of Hammond, IN, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

Loving husband for 52 years to Patsy D. Whitaker nee Elliott. Devoted father of Debbie and Jay Svitko, Diane and Doug Wenzel, Janet and William Green, and James "Jimbo" and Kim Whitaker, III. Cherished brother of Margaret "Peggy" Whitaker. Proud grandfather of 15. Dearest great-grandfather of 2. He was preceded in death by his parents James F. Whitaker, Sr and Margie E. Whitaker nee Schreiber and his furry friend Benji.

Jim enjoyed fishing and was a huge WWE fan. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, but never forgotten.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 3 PM until 9 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN.
