Obituary

"The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light". Mathew 6:26. Although Scottie could not use his eyes to see the things of this world, his sights were always set on Jesus. Scottie taught us all about how little the things of this world matter, but rather how much God wants to love us. Most mornings at 5:00a.m. you could find Scottie with an open bible on his chest, a cross in one hand and a light in the other. Scottie was a prayer warrior for Christ and fought faithfully in God's army. Scottie was truly filled with light for us all to see. Scottie, we will miss your radiant smile and your laughter which lifted our hearts. We will miss how much you loved life, the holidays and celebrating your birthday. We will miss receiving all your gifts, your news reports and talks of politics. You cared deeply for so many and we still need your love and care from heaven. Enjoy the beautiful sights of your new eternal home. Scottie was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Henry and Lillian Marie Paolucci. He is survived by his mother, Linda Vanwhite-Rosado (Hiram); his sisters: Tina Hotkiewicz (Vanwhite) and Kim Amos (Kyle); his brother, David Vanwhite (Katie); aunt, Barbara Kocian; uncle, Darrell Wolfe (Barbra); his many nieces, nephews and cousins who he loved very much. Services for Scottie will be held February 7, 2016 at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southwestern Ave., Hammond, IN 46324. The wake will take place from 12:00-4:00PM, service immediately following at 4:00PM. Donations appreciated in lieu of flowers. For futher information regarding services please contact LaHayne Funeral Home at (219) 845-3600.
