Israel Cortez, age 25, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away after a courageous fight on Thursday, September 21, 2017 surrounded by his family and God. Beloved husband of Leilani Cortez Alarcon. Loving father of Saori Cortez and Matteo Cortez. Devoted son of Javier Cortes and Gabriela Cortes Armenta. Cherished brother of Jazmin (Omar) Cortes and Javier (Liz) Cortes. Proud Grandson. Fond nephew, cousin, and friend of many. Israel died with a lot of faith. He was loved by many and will be missed by even more. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, September 25, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM Service at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, Indiana.
