HENRY R. ECKSTEIN "BOB" Henry R. "Bob" Eckstein, age 83, of Hammond, IN passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on Monday, May 31, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Julia B. (nee Egry); daughter, Barbara K. Benner of Capistrano Beach, CA and son, Robert M. (Suzanne) Eckstein of Schererville, IN; 1 grandson, James R. Eckstein of Manhattan Beach, CA, , many nieces, nephews and their families and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters. Bob was a lifelong resident of this area, a retired sheet metal worker from Local #20, a US Navy Veteran of WW 2, and a member of American Legion Hammond Victory Post #168. He was an avid bowler in his youth at many area lanes. As per Bob's request, there will be no visitation.
