Hazel Carolyn Ferguson nee Zimmerman, age 94, formerly of Hammond, passed away Friday, December 23, 2011 in Jupiter, FL Beloved wife of the late Donald Ferguson Loving mother of Donna Lee (David) Flynn of Jupiter, FL Devoted sister of Carol Brown Proud grandmother of Erin (Corey) Noxon and Ryan (Tanya) Flynn Dearest great-grandmother of Sage Noxon and Elora Noxon Fond aunt of Susan Ford of Louisville, KY and 5 grand-nieces and nephews As a child, Hazel lived in Hammond, IN and moved to Lansing, IL when she married Donald in 1937. She worked for many years at Carson Pirie Scott & Co. and Lorenz Music Publishing in Chicago, IL. She was the choir director and organist at the East Side Baptist Church in Chicago and later joined Meadow Lane Baptist Church in Hammond, IN where she sang in the choir and became the church secretary. After retiring, she moved to Sawyer, MI where she had maintained a summer home. In 1997, she moved to Tequesta, FL and joined the First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta where she sang in the choir and volunteered in the office. A Service was held in Jupiter, FL where her family and friends celebrated her life. Interment was private at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond, IN and entrusted to LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist church of Jupiter-Tequesta Music Ministry.
