Harry J. Muta, Sr., age 83, of Hammond, IN departed this world on the 22nd day of September, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rose; 4 children, Carol (Dennis) Hornsby, Gayle (Walter) Olechnowicz, Harry (Abby) Muta, Jr., and John (Donna) Muta; 6 grandchildren, Justin Hornsby, Robert (Tracy) Olechnowicz, David Muta, Traver Johnson, Sena Muta and Matthew Muta; 1 great grandson, Mason Olechnowicz; 1 brother, Ted (Martha) Muta; 1 sister-in-law, Dorothy (Steve) Milieusnic; godchildren, Steve and Mark Milieusnic, Karen Geissler; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 at 10 AM directly from St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Richard Orlinski officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, September 24, 2010 from 2-7 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN and Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 AM until time of services. Harry was a lifetime resident of this area, a retired pipefitter from Amoco with 42 years of service, and participated as a coach in the Hessville Little League for many happy years.
