Obituary

Harry "Swede" E. Anderson, Jr, age 86, US Naval Veteran of WWII and the Korean War, of Hammond, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013. Beloved Father of Pam (Jerry) Slaven. Loving Grandfather of Sherry Klut and Steve (Natalie) Slaven. Proud Great-Grandfather of Savannah Slaven, Sierra Slaven, Brittany Klut, Nicole Klut, Joshua Higganson, Jason Higgason, Chase Slaven, and Tristen Slaven. Preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Anderson, his Brother Fred Anderson, and his Parents Harry and Sophia Anderson, Sr. Swede was Captain at Hammond Fire Dept. 95 where he retired in 1988 with over 30 years' service. He belonged to the American Legion Post 80 and belonged to the Reunion Association of USS Gen. H. W. Butner. Swede was a huge sports fan, especially all the Chicago teams. He was greatly loved and will be missed by all. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 2 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond. Funeral Service Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME. Interment Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
