Obituary
Gus Montealegre, age 68, of Hammond, IN., passed away on Monday, October 20, 2014. He is survived by his children, Gina Montealegre, Eric Montealegre and Edgar (Julie) Montealegre; his mother Ofelia Thomas: his grandchildren Stephanie Haynes, Donald Grinker and Marissa Montealegre; and former husband of Lorraine Dierking and Lynda Montealegre. He is preceded in death by his father Edgar R. Montealegre. He leaves behind a large family of brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Gus loved hunting, watching the bears, barbeques and spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 5 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Funeral Service Friday, October 24, 2014 at 10 AM from at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 6525 Kentucky Ave., Hammond, IN for Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Father Larry Kew officiating. Interment Saint John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
