Frederick E. Pomplin, age 91, US Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 07, 2015. Devoted husband for 70 years to Eleanor Pomplin nee Brumley. Beloved father Susan (Lee) McIntire. Proud grandfather of Lauren Napheys, Alex Napheys, and Benjamin McIntire. Cherished brother of Fern (late Orvel) Stephenson and Gertrude (Robert) Clark. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Frederick Pomplun and Gertrude Pomplun nee Rosenwinkel and his brothers Edward (late Violet) Pomplun and Alvin (late Lee) Pomplin and his sister Ruth (late Al) Kornaus. Fred ushered in the computer age as a loyal IBMer with a career spanning 39 years starting in 1948. One of his favorite hobbies was planting and harvesting his tomato garden which expanded each year. For decades he followed the stock market and the business channels. Since his retirement in 1987, he and Eleanor have enjoyed many months a year in Colorado being doting grandparents.
