Freddie York, age 82, US Army Veteran of the Korean War, of Hammond, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2013. Beloved Husband of the late Loretta York and longtime companion of the late Fleda Wright Loving Father of Mark (Debra) York, the late Michael York, and Susan (Bill) Ingram Proud Grandfather of 6. Dearest Great-Grandfather of 4. Devoted son of the late Ona Rudmen and the late Fred York. Cherished Brother of the late Betty Ellis. Freddie was a former Post Commander of the VFW Post 7881 and a member American Legion Highland Post 180. He was retired from Keyes-Fibre after 42 years. Freddie was an avid golfer, fisherman, and bowler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at 10 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond.
