Emmett Ewan, Jr. passed away Monday, October 18, 2010. He is survived by 2 sons, Bart and Dwight Ewan; and one granddaughter, Christel Ewan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois M., on August 27, 2010. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Pastor Wesley Helfenbein officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday from 9AM until time of services at the funeral home. Emmett was a resident of this area since 1967 and worked as a welder in construction. He was a Navy veteran of WW 2 and the Korean Conflict serving as an underwater demolition member of Team 6 and saw action in Saipan, Guam, and Tinan.
