Ellen Louise Rigg (nee Shade), 72, of Whiting, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017. She was born July 16, 1945 in East Chicago, the daughter of Edward and Emma Shade and is survived by her loving husband of 50+ years Marvin Rigg; three children: Christopher Rigg (Kim Nixon of Texas, Erin (Frederico) Dehoyos of Whiting and Kevin Rigg (Sara Eskridge) of Lowell, sister Sharon (Sam) Eickleberry of Michigan; six grandchildren: Piers, Samantha, Kayli, Jonathan, Matthew and Adela; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law as well as nieces and nephews. Ellen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ellen's life Sunday, September 25, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the Lakeside Room at Whiting United Methodist Church, 1920 Clark Street, Whiting, Indiana 46394.
