Ella Faye Carver nee Shoun, age 91, of Hammond, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012. Loving Mother of Sarah (Jerry) Brogdon of Schererville, Gary (Kathy) Carver of Dyer, Phillip Carver of Schererville, and Karen Carver Gallups of Schererville. Proud grandmother of 12. Dearest great-grandmother of 18. Cherished great-great-grandmother of 5. Ella was preceded in death by her parents Jess T. and Sarah Shoun nee Carey, her husband Ocie Odell, her son Ronald Dale Carver, her daughter Phyllis Dean Carver, and her granddaughter Kimberly Carver. Ella Faye Carver was a resident of East Chicago, IN for 13 years. She was born and raised in Empire, AL and moved back to Alabama in 1969. Ella was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She was just a loving and caring person all around. She loved canning, cooking, and playing cards with her family and friends. She will be loved and missed by all. Private Service was entrusted to LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond.
