Edward S. Kawecki, age 92, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, May 07, 2015.

Beloved husband for 58 years of late Shirley J. Kawecki nee Widerberg. Loving father of Edward Scott Kawecki, Robin (Liz Menges) Kawecki and late Sandra Gail Westerfield. Cherished brother of late Vincent (late Theresa) Kawecki, late Henry (late Gloria) Kawicki, and late Baby Sister. Proud Grandfather of Brian Scott Kawecki. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Edward was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church and former member of Lebanon Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Altar Guild. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

Lying in State on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 7051 Indianapolis Blvd., Hammond, In with Rev. Dr. John J. Santoro officiating. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Friends are invited to meet with the family at LaHayne Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 4 PM until 9 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Food Bank of NW Indiana, Humane Society of Calumet Area, or Christ Lutheran Church.
