Dorothy F. Poweski nee Fricke, age 96, of DeMotte and formerly of Hammond, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, February 19, 2015. Beloved wife for 65 years to the late Frank J. Poweski. Loving daughter of the late Herman and the late Evelyn Fricke nee Prochno. Devoted sister of the late Mildred (late John) Tokash. Fond aunt of numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces, and great-great-nephews. Dorothy was born in Hammond in 1918. She was an active member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Highland. She touched each person's life in a special way. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 9 AM until time of Service at 11 AM with Pastor Rob Dorow, officiating at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond.
