Dorothy Ann Dalton, age 88, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Jeff) Ossanna; grandsons: Matthew Ossanna, Jason (Brooke) Ossanna and Joshua (Jennifer) Ossanna; great grandchildren: Liam and Isabella; sister, Patricia Cieslak; brother, David (Burdee) Piniak; several nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was preceded in passing by her parents: Joseph and Charlotte Piniak; and her husband, John Dalton.

A Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at 11:00 AM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324, with Father Jeffrey Burton of St. John Bosco officiating. Burial will follow to St. John-St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Hammond.

Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, September 13, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home.

Dorothy was the former co-owner of the Dalton & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.  She was a member of the former Knights of Columbus Wives Club.  She enjoyed bowling, bingo and shopping.  More than anything Dorothy loved spending time with her adoring grandkids and great grandkids, and caring for her beloved dog, Dylan.
