Donald "Turkey" J. Jostes, age 67, US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, of Hammond, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016. Beloved husband for 38 years to Pamela A. Jostes nee Matthews. Loving father of Tami (Carl) Para. Cherished son of Margaret A. Jostes nee O'Brien. Devoted brother of Dennis (Linda) Jostes and Carol (Roger) Moore. Proud grandfather of Tyler Mitchell, Nathan James,Breelyn Para, and Alex Para. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his father Andrew G. Jostes and his grandson Carl Para, III. Turkey was the Commander of Post 126 in Hammond for 20 years and was the past Commander of Post 180 in Highland. He was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to celebrate Turkey's life on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 5 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Interment was private.
