Donald C. Frayer, age 55, of Hammond, IN passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009. He is survived by 2 sons, Donnie and Joshua; 6 daughters, Nina, Tiffany, Jessica, Brittany, Hollie, and Megan; 3 step-sons, Patrick, Joseph, and Jason; 12 grandchildren; father, Melvin; 2 brothers, William and Edward (Roma); 3 sisters, Sandy Lawhead, Judy (Andrew) Jennings, and Karen (Dennis) Burton; 2 aunts; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorene. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10 AM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Pastor Dennis Starkey officiating. Cremation will follow at Heritage Crematory, Portage, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 2-6 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated. Donald was a lifetime resident of this area, a 1972 graduate of Gavit High School in Hammond, and a lifelong New York Yankee fan.
