Dolores Theresa Elizabeth Hellems nee Badaszewski, age 82, of Hammond, IN, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

She is survived by her loving children Robert "Buffalo Bob" (Janet) Hellems, Linda (Robert) Hellems-Trinkle, Cyndee (Phillip) Tanas, SR, and Theresa (Bruce Lang) Hellems, all of Hammond. Beloved grandmother of Jennifer Hellems, Michelle Hellems, Phillip (Stephenie) Tanas, JR, Destiny Tanas, Joseph Michael Hellems, Brian (Tanya) Norton, Eric Norton, and Stacey (Michael) Smith. Proud great-grandmother of Samantha Hellems, Amanda Hellems, Deanna Hellems, Brittany Fuller, Ashley White, Hayley White, Michael Wright, Genevieve Tanas, Jacob Tanas, Jennifer Gabriella Jones, Brian Norton, Taylor Norton, Aspen Norton, Austin Norton, Hailee Norton, Bryce Norton, and Nickolas Smith, and great-great-grandmother of many. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph Paul Hellems, infant sons Michael, Patrick, and Thomas, her parents Walter and Lottie Badaszewski, grandchildren Robert Tanas and Andrea Fiss Chapman, and her brothers Theodore (late Carol) Badaszewski, Francis (Elizabeth) Badaszewski, Joseph (Clara) Badaszewski, and Ronald (Ellen) Badaszewski.

Dolores worked very hard during her lifetime at different jobs including: School City of Hammond Food Service Department, Carson Pirie Scott & Company Security, G&S Catering, Simmons, Solo Cup Company, and others. She also was very active in the community volunteering at the Hammond Community Center Thrift Shop, F.O.P No. 168 and No. 369 East Chicago Moose Lodge, and the Hammond Democratic Precinct Organization. She was a Precinct Committee Woman and Vice Committee Woman, among other places and volunteer positions. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Visitation and a service to celebrate Dolores's life with her family and loved ones will take place on Monday, April 20 from 3 PM until time of service at 5 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Deacon Michael W.
