Dolores Flores Hammond, IN Dolores Flores age 78, of Hammond, IN. passed away Wednesday April 8, 2009. She is survived by one daughter; Rosemary (Michael) Weber, one grandson; Benjamin Weber, two sisters; Amellia (Rudy) Ruiz; and Sally (Albert) Villarreal, two brothers; Trini (Linda) Martinez, and Robert (Lucy) Martinez, several nieces and nephews, and cousins. Dolores is preceded in death by her parents; Jose and Juanita Martinez, two sons; David and Tom Flores, and one sister; Esther Martinez. Funeral Services will be held Saturday April 11, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN with Elder Frederico Morgan Officiating, cremation to follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family Friday April 10, 2009 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Dolores was a lifetime resident of this area, she was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School in East Chicago, IN, she was a very active Jehovah Witness for over 30 years, and worked for 27 years as a financial counselor at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago, IN. Dolores was a very courageous woman that battled her illness for several years, she was a wonderful mother in raising her children. Our mom, friend, and confidant will be dearly missed.
