Dennis ""Smurf" R. White, age 59, of Hammond, passed away Friday, November 18, 2011. Beloved husband for 27 years to Rosemary White nee Grudzien. Loving father of Chelsa and Jennifer White. Devoted son of William and late Betty White nee Wartena. Cherished brother of Jerry (Judy) and Greg White. Proud grandfather of Michael Cardona and 1 on the way. Dearest son-in-law of Walter Grudzien. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dennis belonged to the Teamster Local 142 and was a huge IU fan. Funeral Service Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 10 AM at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN with Rev. Stephen Kosinski, Pastor, officiating. Interment at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends are invited to meet with the family at LaHayne Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 PM until 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
