De Elda S. "Dee" White, age 77, of Hammond, IN passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009. She is survived by 4 children, Diana (Alan) Kalwa of Tenn., Shawn (Kim) White of Crown Point, IN, Moneen (Tim) Reed of Demotte, IN and Dawn (Jim) Dannis of Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Dorothy Barkalow of CO., Polly Keeler of IA Louise and Pat of IL; 1 brother, Paul (Mae) Powers of IA; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim White, 2 sons, Jimmy and Mickey White, and numerous brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 4 PM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Cremation will follow. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday from 2-4PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Assn. Dee was a resident of this area for 43 years and a member of the Women of the Moose. She enjoyed Bingo and played often.
