David J. Grubesic, age 61, of Hammond, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021.

David is survived by his son, David Grubesic; grandchildren: Makayla Grubesic and Aiden Kirgis;  siblings: Marianne (John) Schriver, Carolyn (Brian) Brogdon, Donna Pattri and Joe Grubesic.

David was preceded in passing by his parents, Joseph and Betty Grubesic; and his cat, Lucy "the wife".

David was born in East Chicago and resided in Hammond, Indiana. In 1978, he graduated from Morton Sr. High School where he was an All-Star pitcher. He retired from Youngstown Steel (Arcelor Mittel) after 42 years of service. In his free time, David loved watching the Cubs and tending to his lawn and vegetable garden.

A Memorial Service will be scheduled by the family at a later date.
