Daniel M. Flores, Sr, age 78, US Army Veteran of the Korean War, of Portage and formerly of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Beloved Husband for 52 year to Janet A. Flores nee Teeple. Loving Father of Timothy (Evon) Flores, Regina (Ronald) Jones, Gregory (Darlene) Flores, Antonio (Millie) Flores, Mark (Reva) Flores, Scott (Eva) Flores, Daniel Flores, Jr, Jodi (Mike) Fentress, Michelle (Mario) Garcia, and Jennifer (Angie) Flores. Cherished Brother of Eloise (late Ernest) Munoz and preceded in death by 4 Brothers and 2 Sisters. Proud Grandfather of 30. Dearest Great-Grandfather of 13. Fond Uncle of many Nieces and Nephews. Daniel was a graduate of Bishop Noll High. He was with the 101st Airborne during the Korean War. He was a precinct committeeman of the 2nd District of Hammond. He enjoyed coin collecting and was an avid sports fan, especially with the Cubs, Bears, and Notre Dame. He was retired after 20 plus years with Allis-Chalmers. Most of all, Daniel loved spending time with his family. Family and friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, April 5, 2013 from 3 PM until 9 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond. Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 10 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME. Interment Concordia, Hammond.
