Charles W. Hott, age 86, of Schererville, IN passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Ann; 2 children, Brian (Karen) Hott of Munster, IN and Leslie (Phil) Totah of Parker, CO; 2 step-children, Kurt Krucine and Kathy (Frank) Barsic of Schererville, IN; 6 grandchildren, Erin and Justin Hott, Zachary, Aubrey, Jesse, and D. J. Totah; 2 step-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Kenny Barsic. He was preceded in death by his loving first wife, Joan, in 1985. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 11, 2010 at 11 AM from St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8601 Harrison Ave., Munster, IN with Dr. Eric Stumpf and Rev. Donald Stock officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Thursday, June 10, 2010 from 4-8 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN and Friday at the church from 10 AM until time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Beckman Scholarship Fund at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8601 Harrison Ave., Munster, IN 46321. Charlie was a resident of this area for over 55 years, a U. S. Army Veteran of WW 2, a graduate of Bucknell University where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, and a member of the Republican National Committee. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church of Munster where he served o the Board of Evangelism and Board of Deacons, American Legion Post # 485 of Schererville, IN, was a retired Civil Engineer from Amoco Oil Co, and was a licensed Surveyor.
