Charles W. Gresham, age 90, US Army Veteran of WWII, of Lansing, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2010 Beloved Son of late Paul and late Margaret (nee Last) Gresham Loving Husband of late Florence and late Rosemary Devoted Father of Pamela (Robert) Helwick of San Francisco, CA, Charlene Gresham of Chicago, IL, Peggy (late Michael) Hrynko of Oak Park, IL late Charles W. Gresham, II Step-Father of Roy Nowak Cherished Brother of late Robert (Mildred) Gresham, late Florence (late John) Swanson, and late Marguerite (late Victor) Jacko Proud Grandfather of Jacob Hrynko and Daniel Hrynko Step-Grandfather of Jessica, Cassidy, and Melissa Fond Uncle of Paula Swanson, Donald (Robin) Jacko, William (Debbie) Jacko, Tim Kwasniewski, Robert (Missy) Gresham, and Jeff (Jeanine) Gresham Charles was a life time resident of this area and a graduate of Hammond High School, Class of 1938. He was employed by I.H.B.RR. and retired after 43 years in engine service. He was a Past President of Div. 685 BLE. He served for 44 months with the Army Corps of Engineers in the European Theater of Operations during WWII. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 330 of Calumet City, a member of Arcadia Lodge # 1138 AF&AM, Lansing, the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, Rah Eese Unit, the Orak Temple, and AAONMS. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 PM until 8 PM at the LaHayne Funeral Home. Private Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Funeral Service Friday, December 24, 2010 at 11 AM at the LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond with Rev. Steven Conger, Pastor officiating.
