Cecil Marion Kiest May 23, 1917-July 11, 2009 Hammond, Indiana Cecil Marion Kiest, age 92, of Hammond, IN passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009. He is survived by 6 children, John (Mary Ellen) Kiest, Beverly (Jerry) Rodda, Dennis (Pat) Kiest, Michael (Sue) Kiest, Terry (Cyndi) Kiest and Kim (Joel) Mora; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 1 great, great grandson. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Dorothy Marie Kiest, granddaughter, Tierney Frost, and numerous brothers and sisters. Mr. Kiest was a lifetime resident of this area, a Master Sergeant in the US Army (106th Calvary Group) during WW 2, and a recipient of the Bronze Star. He was founder of Indiana Mechanical and a retired pipefitter from Local # 597. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, July 15, 2009 from 5-8 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN.
