Carol J. Wagenblast nee Retzloff, age 84, of Hammond, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, April 3, 2015.

Loving Mother of Deborah S. (William) Howarth, Daniel B. (Adrienne Wagenblast, and Julie A. (Howard) Hurley. Proud Ahm of Michael (Erica) Howarth, Chelsea Wagenblast, Carly (Brandon) Cox, Jennifer (fiancé A. J. Van Haitsma) Hurley, and Amanda Hurley. Beloved Great-Ahm of Addison Cox.

Dear Friend of Don Johnsen. Preceded in death by her husband Clarence E. Wagenblast, her parents Carl and Lillian Retzloff, and her grandson Steven Howarth.

Carol enjoyed working her puzzles, gardening, barns, and her many pets. She was a long-time member of Immanuel United Church of Christ. Carol retired after many years in the deli at Van Tils. She loved her many visits with her family and friends. She was loved by many and will be missed by more.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 from 3 PM until 8 PM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 11 AM at LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Paula Comper, Pastor officiating. I nterment at Oak Hill Cemetery, Hammond, IN.
