Betty Lou Gray (Watts, Wallace, Whyte), age 93, of Hammond, IN., passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

Betty is survived by her daughters: Sheri (late Robert) Day and Debra (Dennis) Pettit; grandchildren: Jacqueline (Matt) Ramey, Eric (Kathryn) Pettit and Jill (Shane Carson) Pettit; great grandchildren: Alex and Anthony Brown, Aubrianna, Hunter, Summer Carson; Andreas, Luke and Elijah Pettit.  She was preceded in passing by her parents: William and Myrtle Watts, husbands: Chuck, Jack and Eddie, son, Gary Wallace, siblings: Beulah "Boots", Jimmie "Duberry" and Marion "Snookie".

A Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 12:30 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN, with Debbie Rhyne officiating.  Burial will follow to Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:30.

Betty was born and raised in Franklin, Indiana. Betty loved reading, the color purple and she was an avid speller.  She enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, Rifleman and Wheel of Fortune-she was still solving puzzles before the contestants. All of her grandkids say that she was the best grandmother they could ever have, we just want the world to know how much she loved us & that was her reason for waking up every day. Betty was always bragging about her two daughters, Sheri and Debra, and how much they meant to her, she would not have made it this long without their love, support, and care. She always said, "Believe what you believe."
