Betty J. Houk, of Hammond, IN, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at the age of 88. She died peacefully at home surrounded by the family she loved. Betty was born in Morocco, IN to the late Alfred and Grace Caul. She is survived by her two daughters: Patricia Houk and Debbie (Bill) Conover; grandchildren Matt (Melissa) Houk, Jay (Sylvia) Houk, Michelle (Tom) Smith, Melissa Conover; great grandchildren: Landon, Logan and Liam Smith, Christopher, Tyler and Serenity Houk; sister, Marilyn (Tom) Hough. Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan Houk; brothers Donald, Jim and Roy Caul; sisters: Carolyn Campbell and Marjorie Caul. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, February 16, 2018 11:00 a.m. at LaHayne Funeral Home (6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond). Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at LaHayne Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
