Betty S. Haskins nee Bartlett, of Hammond, Indiana and previously of Whiting, Indiana, passed away on December 16, 2017 at the age of 85.

Betty is survived by her sons Barry and Bryan Haskins; sister Doris Midkiff and brothers Chuck and Cliff Bartlett; grandchildren Shane (Jill) Haskins, Cassie (Dustin) Greenya, Trent Haskins, Grant (Annie) Haskins, Allison, Katie, and Susan Haskins; great-grandchildren Brenna, Colin Caleb, Hannah, Carson, Mason, and Luke. She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Haskins; parents Charlie and Laura Bartlett; brother Norm Bartlett, and great-grandson Joshua Haskins.

Betty was born on October 11, 1932 to Charlie and Laura in Buford, Kentucky. Graduated from Dundee High School in 1950 then moved to Whiting, Indiana with her family. She worked at the Whiting White Castle for several years. During that time, she met her future husband Bill at a church function and they were married in 1954. After which being a devoted mother to her two sons, Barry and Bryan became her full-time job. Betty said goodbye to Bill after 50 years of marriage in the fall of 2004. Betty enjoyed watching baseball and basketball, was an avid bowler, and was in a league up until last year, a dedicated grandmother and breast cancer survivor. Betty's joy in life was her great-grandchildren. She loved playing with them and watching them grow. There was no end of her love for them and they will miss her dearly. Romans 3:23-25.

Friends are invited to celebrate Betty's life with her family on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 3:00 PM until time of Service at 7:30 PM with Reverend William "Bill" L. Hall, Pastor officiating at LaHayne Funeral Home , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, Indiana. Private interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, Indiana.
