Arthur H. Witzke, age 92, of Hammond, IN passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010. He is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Koch of Munster, IN and Candy Phillips of Valparaiso, IN; 1 step-son, Larry (Kathy) Cramer of St. Paul. MN; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law, Betty Witzke of Munster, IN, Eleanor M. Lincoln of Ramona, CA and Carolyn (John) Forlow of Brentwood, CA; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyla M., and a brother Jacob G. Witzke. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 6:30 PM from LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN with Rev. Michael Pennanen officiating. Internment will be private. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the American Heart Association. Arthur was a lifetime resident of this area, a veteran of the Army Air Force during WW2, a retired Yard Superintendant from Morrison Construction, and a member of Griffith Lutheran Church, Munster Bridge Club and the Highland Coin Club.
