Armando Luis Mireles, age 76, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 due to complications of Covid-19.

Armando is survived by his son, Michael Mireles; his two grandchildren, Michael Jr. and Luna (Chad Thoren); his siblings: Linda (Alfredo) Celestin, Wanda Vilma (Steve) Cavazos, Victor (Lynda) Mireles, Ray (Dolly) Mireles and Manuel (Marie) Mireles; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in passing by his parents Manuel and Rose Mireles.

Armando was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana where he graduated from Washington High School in 1963.  After graduation, Armando went on to serve in the U.S Army where he spent time in Korea. He was a millwright by trade, retiring from U.S. Steel in East Chicago.  He enjoyed visiting area casinos, was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He spent his retirement years helping lovingly care for his grandchildren.
