Arlis Ray Aaron, age 79, of St. John, IN passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Louise; loving step-sons, Ronnie (Donna) Rainbolt of MO and Joseph Steenerson of Lake Station, IN; brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and many loving nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilson R. and Alice Aaron, brothers, Hamilton, Delano, Warren B. and William M., and step-daughter, Linda. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7, 2010 at 10 AM from 1st United Lutheran Church, 6705 Hohman Ave., Hammond, IN with Dr. Bassam Abdallah officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 2-6 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home, 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to 1st United Lutheran Church. Ray was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and an active member of 1st United Lutheran Church of Hammond. He was a life member of Garfield Masonic Lodge # 569 who will conduct services at 3 PM Sunday at the funeral home, VFW Edward H. Larsen Post # 802 of Hammond who will conduct services at 5 PM Sunday at the funeral home and the Orak Shrine. For information, call LaHayne Funeral Home at 219-845-3600.
