Antonio Navarro age 72 of Hammond, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2022. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ofelia; children: Celia (James) Mitchell, Gerardo (Maria) Navarro, Antonio Jr. (Claudia) Navarro, Carmen (Dale) Garza, Elena (Jorge) Figueroa, Sergio (Margaret) Navarro, and Amanda (Jose) Jaramillo; numerous grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and by his siblings: Angelina, Mariano, Guadalupe, Piedad, Vicenta, Manuel, Elpidio and María Elena. He was preceded in death by his parents Sabino and Maria Navarro. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 13, 2022, at 10:00am DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 3510 Deodar St. in East Chicago, IN. with Fr. Diego Flores celebrating. Burial will follow at St. John- St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. Friends may meet with the family on Tuesday July 12th from 4-8:00pm at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue Hammond, Indiana 46324 Antonio was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. He was retired from Carmeuse and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Antonio enjoyed helping his neighbors in any way possible. He loved joking with family and friends, and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
