Alexander C. Thompson, age 87, of Hobart IN, passed away on Thursday, October 20,2022

Alexander is survived by his wife, Debi Thompson; children: Robin Thompson, Alicia (Call) Posey, Melissa Caballero and Natasha (Robert) Johnson; stepchildren: Angel (Dave) West and T.J. Morgan; sister: Shelby Lewis; grandchildren: Derek, Ryan, Nicole, Samuel, Katie, Emily, Alexia, Julian, Alyanna, Skylar, Parker, Audrey, R.J., Jacinda, Bella, Paisley and Maclin; step grandchildren: Mercedes, Joey, Tori, Haley, David, Ariana and Jessi; numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins.  Alexander was preceded in passing by his parents: Clarence and Teresa (McAllister) Thompson; sons: Douglas Thompson and Kevin Thompson; sister, Frances Thompson; and his brother, Perry Thompson.

A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 28, 2022, 12:30 PM with Pastor Ron Wagner officiating at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond, IN. Burial to follow at Elmwood Cemetery with Military Honors. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, October 28, 2022, from 9:00AM until time of Service.

Alexander was born May 30, 1935, in Dillon, SC to Clarence and Teresa Thompson. After graduating New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC in 1955, he proudly served in the US Army for over 5 years.  He continued his education, receiving a BS in Business Administration and in Engineering. His passion was Youth Leadership, and he found his outlet in the Boy Scouts of America where he served as a Leader as well as numerous positions throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed many summers spending time with his family at Foxwood Hills Campground.  Anyone that knew Alexander knew his love for The Chicago Bears ran deep, the family is asking all to wear your favorite Bears attire to services in his memory.
