Alberto "Beto" Garcia Jr., age 66 of Hobart passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021.

He is survived by his siblings: Grace (Armando) Valenzuela, Irene Wilson, Dora (Al) Zakarias, Maria Esther (Jesse) Hernandez, David Garcia, Angelina (Manuel) Rivera, Irma (late Federico Jr.) Flores, Maria Elena (Rex) Anderson and Lucia (Rolando) Alvarez; fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews; and many cousins.  Albert was preceded in passing by his parents, Albert R. and Leonor E. Garcia.

"Beto" was born January 17, 1955 in East Chicago, IN.  He enjoyed attending Family Christian Center in Munster, IN.  He had a great love for his father's '57 Chevy and a passion for music and drawing.  Alberto looked forward to trips to Mexico with the family and loved being able to visit with his grandparents and aunts and uncles while there.  Often times you would find him with a hand full of junk food, as it was his favorite.  More than anything, Alberto enjoyed making people laugh with his unending sense of humor.  He loved his family and he loved God.

A Memorial Gathering to Celebrate the life of Alberto will take place on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 12:00PM until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home 6955 Southeastern Ave. Hammond, IN 46324.
