Alberta F. Staton nee Meyer, age 87, of Hammond, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Beloved wife of late James R. "Bob" Staton Loving mother of late Donald "Don" L" Staton. Cherished aunt of Virgil (Pat) Miller and many other loving nieces and nephews. Alberta was born in Metropolis, IL on May 1, 1929. She was very active with her church. Alberta enjoyed sewing, cooking, and baking. People especially loved her cookies. Her family would like to thank First United Lutheran Church for all their loving support and also to Community Hospital for all of their loving care they provided her. Alberta was loved by many and will be missed by more. Friends are invited to celebrate Alberta's life on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 9 AM until time of Service at 11 AM with Dr. Bassam Abdallah, Pastor officiating at First United Lutheran Church, 6705 Hohman Avenue, Hammond, IN. Interment to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Schererville, IN. Services were entrusted to LaHAYNE FUNERAL HOME , 6955 Southeastern Ave., Hammond, IN.
