Joseph is survived by his children: Penny Lawrence, Vincent Lawrence and Joseph (Danielle) Lawrence, Jr.; grandchildren: Brianna (Jonathan) Eisenhardt, Vincent Lawrence, Vanessa Lawrence, Joshua (Renee) Lawrence, Alyssa Lawrence, Kayla Lawrence, Alexis Fant, Cheyanne Fant; great grandchildren: Laken, Easton, Brett, Natalie, Liana, Stevie, Leah, Alayah, Isaiah Jr., Elijah and Jordan; sisters: Arlene Halvorsen and Betty Hixon Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in passing by his parents: Michael and Anne Lawrence; his wife, Judy Lawrence; brothers: Michael Lawrence, Jr., Christopher Lawrence, Lawrence Lawrence; sisters: Caroline Smith and Constance Zakarias.
Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He retired from St John-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond. Joseph was passionate about Cars and loved working on them. He was very active and served as former President of Irving Park Little League and Softball. He liked remodeling and woodworking and found great joy in being able to help others. Above all else Joseph loved spending time with his family, friends and his dogs. Joseph chose to leave us and be hand in hand joining his one and only sunshine, Judy Ann Lawrence on her birthday in Heaven. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 6:00-8:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue Hammond, IN 46324. Inurnment will take place on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at 1:00 PM with Military Honors DIRECTLY at St. John-St Joseph Catholic Cemetery 1547 167th Street, Hammond IN 46320
