Gust Bereolos Obituary

Gust J. Bereolos, age 62, of Hammond, IN, passed away on Wednesday, March 20,2024.

Gust is survived by his wife, Leticia “Letty” Bereolos; step-sons: Aaron (Deanna) Suarez and Ricardo (Miriam) Suarez; grandchildren: Jordyn, Bentley, Jayce, Brayden, Jolyne, Sebastian and Elijah; nieces and nephews: Maggie, Frederick, Lily, Thomas, Andrew and Matthew; sisters: Patti (Jeffrey) Sears and Maribeth (Fred) Smart; brother, Herk Bereolos; numerous friends and a cherished family member of all of the Martinez Family and Spolnik Family.  Gust was preceded in passing by his parents: Gust and Dorothy Bereolos; and his best buddy and 4-legged companion, Marley.

A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM DIRECTLY at St John Bosco Catholic Church located at 7113 Columbia Avenue, Hammond, IN 46324, with Father Jeffrey Burton officiating.  Family is invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, March 27 at Church from 10:00 AM until the time of Funeral at 11:00 AM.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM at LaHayne Funeral Home located at 6955 Southeastern Avenue, Hammond IN 46324.

Gust is a Clark High School Alumni, Class of 1980. He was a Sheet Metal worker for over 25 Years dedicating his work with Local 20 in Indiana and Local 73 in Illinois.  He spent numerous years as Treasurer and Secretary of The Greater Homing Pigeon Club.  Gust formerly owned Gusto Pizza in Robertsdale and Pudlo’s Bar and Grill in Hammond.  He was passionate about local High School Sports, particularly Basketball, and loved attending his nephews’ games. When it came to Baseball, Gust was the #1 fan of the Chicago White Sox! He loved the outdoors and enjoyed riding his bike, golfing and fishing. Gust and the love of his life, Letty spent as much time as they could travelling and favored the National Parks and Baseball Fields across the country. They both were passionate about music and going to concerts, the most memorable being at Red Rock Amphitheatre.  Gust was known to all as a people person and a friend to all.  Gust was most proud of his earned title of “Grandpa Gus”.  He will be missed by all who loved him.
